Twitter is brill. I’ve just learned about a meeting of the Wellington Macintosh Society, WelMac for short, that has just concluded, at which the noted conductor and composer Sir William Southgate (the first New Zealand-based artist to be knighted, as a knight bachelor).

Says Twitterer @JoMangee:

Fantastic Sibelius 5 demo by Sir William Southgate at @WelMac 25th Birthday Celebration. Mighty fine cake too! Composed a sonata for WelMac.

JoMangee has also posted some photos of the event to his Flickr photostream.

It’s such a thrill to hear about our software getting in front of new people. I would have loved to have been there to see this for myself.

If you know about any demos of Sibelius going on anywhere, or any user group meetings that discuss it, do let me know.
