Yesterday’s Bucks County Courier Times newspaper carried a story about Bensalem High School, which has recently installed a new lab full of iMac computers running Sibelius, Auralia and Garageband. Teacher Mike Zimmerman is running a music technology class for the school’s students. The article says:
“Primarily, for music technology, we used GarageBand, Sibelius and some online resources such as musictheory.net,” said Zimmerman. “We also have Auralia, which is used in our music theory classes. Eventually, we will be using Logic, which is similar to GarageBand, just more powerful.”
Zimmerman said Sibelius allows Web users to compose music and print it out. “It can be used as a compositional tool, and a tool to learn about notes and reading, but primarily it is used for generating music,” he said.
