It’s been a little while since I mentioned the fine work that Jonathan Loving is doing, providing Sibelius compatibility for a number of third party virtual instruments and sample libraries by creating sound sets and other supporting files to go with them. Partly a labour of love, and partly a shrewd business move, Jonathan has become the go-to guy for producing sound sets for Sibelius. Since that last post, Jonathan has added sound sets for the following libraries:

  • Every flavour of EastWest Quantum Leap Symphonic Orchestra (Free, Silver, Gold, Platinum) in both Kontakt and Play formats
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Goliath
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Gypsy
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Pianos
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Ra
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Silk
  • EastWest Quantum Leap StormDrum 2
  • EastWest Quantum Leap Voices of Passion
  • Garritan Authorized Steinway
  • ProjectSAM Symphobia
  • ProjectSAM Orchestral Brass Classic
  • Vir2 Elite Orchestral Percussion
  • Vir2 Mojo Horn Section
  • Vir2 VI.ONE

Jonathan also has a sound set for Audiobro’s Los Angeles Scoring Strings (LASS) coming soon. Check out his web site for details.

And one final note, Irish composer Dónal Rafferty has produced a sound set for the Edirol SD-20 and has posted it on his web site. If you’re using one of these devices and find this sound set useful, Dónal would appreciate a donation.

If you know about any other Sibelius sound sets that are available, do let me know!
