The August 2009 issue of Music Tech magazine includes a glowing review of Sibelius 6 from writer Keith Gemmell, who also wrote the reviews of Sibelius 4 and Sibelius 5 for the same publication. I’m delighted that Sibelius 6 has gone one better than Sibelius 5, and has been awarded a perfect score of 10/10, along with the Music Tech Excellence award.
Some highlights from the review:
Avid seems to have concentrated on improving the notation facilities and user workflow, with a view to reducing the time spent producing scores…
[Magnetic Layout] works very well and can even be extended to intelligently adjust the spaces between staves, a real time-saver when you’re working on a large score.
This is an impressive update with a raft of new features and improvements that put Sibelius 6 ahead of the field…
And Music Tech’s overall verdict?
The brilliant new Magnetic Layout feature, ReWire and numerous workflow and notation improvements all combine to make Sibelius 6 undoubtedly the best notation software we’ve used to date.
