Computer Music Performance AwardThe latest issue of Computer Music magazine includes a review of Sibelius 6, which once again receives a perfect 10/10 score, making this the third time that a major version of Sibelius has received top marks from this influential magazine. Sibelius 6 has also been bestowed with the prestigious Computer Music Performance Award.

Computer Music calls Sibelius “perhaps the most popular scorewriting program of them all” and says that the “latest version for PC and Mac makes a very serious impression.”

The review praises Magnetic Layout, calling it “revelatory”, and says that “Sibelius definitely has the edge in this area for now.” It concludes:

We think Avid have landed a rather heavy hit with Sibelius 6. In particular, we’re enamoured of Magnetic Layout, which will speed up the finalisation of a score considerably, and ReWire support, which could open up a whole world of possibilities (and rather puts Finale’s single audio track facility in the shade).

Issue 143 of Computer Music magazine will be available on 3 September, and you can subscribe here. You can also read the full review online at MusicRadar.com.
